German Junghans Meister Mega 058/4801.00 from the Meister series carries on the legacy of the first half of the 20th century while bringing a touch of modern watchmaking technology in the form of a radio-controlled movement. This model is definitely one of the most elegant radio-controlled watches in the world. Between the 1930s and 1960s, watches designed by the then designer Anton Ziegler were produced in a similar style. Today, the watch is back in the range, enhanced with modern technology!
The Junghans Meister Mega 058/4801.00 are equipped with the battery-powered in-house J101.65 movement, which is controlled by radio, so you can rely on maximum running accuracy throughout use. The radio control of this machine is multi-frequency, meaning that it picks up signals on five radio transmitters located around the world (that is, on all but the Chinese transmitter). Even if you are out of signal range, the J101.65 achieves extremely high accuracy - specifically +/- 8s per year. Time management is also possible via smartphone using the Junghans MEGA App (for Android and IOS). This movement also offers a perpetual calendar function without the need for correction up to the year 2400, even without radio signal reception. The date indicator is located at the traditional position 3.
Another interesting feature of the manufacturer's J101.65 movement is the seconds hand, which does not jump after one second, as is common in the vast majority of quartz movements, but after half a second. In addition, the position of the seconds hand is aligned (using ITC - Intelligent Time Correction - technology) 1440 times per day according to the last time information received. Also unusual is the movement of the minute hand, which moves in leaps of one minute rather than the standard smooth movement.
The case of this model is made of stainless steel and its elegance is enhanced by the leather strap. The dial gives a very elegant impression thanks to the subtly crafted hands. Cprotected by a convex plastic slide with special Sicralan protection. This provides increased protection of the glass against scratches, UV rays, and also ensures its greater shine. On the dial we find an illustrated world map with the location of radio transmitters, according to which the watch is adjusted. Water resistance is 30 meters (3 ATM) - so the watch can withstand normal contact with water, such as rain or hand washing.
A version with a sapphire crystal can be supplied at extra cost.
