However, its features and design make it useful not only for diving, but also for everyday wear. This limited edition has 1883 pieces and its case is made of fishnets from the Indian Ocean.

The case, made from fishing nets caught in the Indian Ocean (70% plastic, 30% fiberglass), houses a Swiss-made mechanical automatic movement, the AL-525 (based on the Sellita SW200) with 26 jewels, which operates at 28,800 semi-frequencies per hour and features a date indicator at the traditional position 3. Its operation can be observed thanks to the transparent case back. The clear dial, rendered in the typical "diver" style, is protected by a sapphire crystal that is highly resistant to scratches. There is also a one-way rotating diving lunette for measuring dive times.

Model AL-525LNSB4VG6 comes with a handy NATO strap, made of plastic bottles and fits most men's wrists perfectly thanks to its 44mm diameter. Also included is a second strap made of vegan leather, made from apples. The water resistance of this watch is 300m, so it is also designed for deep diving.

The Alpina Gyre collection was created to support the purity of the oceans, as the Alpina brand has always been associated with nature and its gentle exploration. In collaboration with Surfrider Foundation Europe, an organisation that fights against ocean pollution, this unique edition was created using materials fished out of the ocean as plastic waste. The cases of this watch are made from fishing nets fished from the Indian Ocean. The straps, whose colour refers to the colours of the ocean, are made from plastic bottles or vegan leather, made from apples. Even the special box is made from recycled plastic. These materials are purchased by Gyre Watch. The name Gyre was chosen to draw attention to the fact that most plastic goes into the oceans, where it is absorbed and further dispersed by oceanic "Gyres" - that is, storms or streams.
