The Minor Monaco Black robot in a lightweight and durable titanium case impresses with its original racing design, dominated by a dial with 3,462 miniature perforations that allow you to see into the heart of the La Joux-Perret automatic watch movement.
The Minor series is a tribute to the legendary Czech car Aero Minor Sport, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1949. Even today, this legend of Czechoslovak motorsport can be seen on race tracks and at vintage shows.
The graphics of the dial and the shape of the hands are reminiscent of dashboard instruments, the gears of the gearbox come to life in the form of a crown , and the rotor of the automatic winding refers to the geometry of the wheel disc. In addition to the dial perforations, it is worth mentioning the embossed sub-dials made by electroforming, the milled, hand-polished and polished hands, or the unusual skeletonised date wreath.
The Robot Minor Monaco Black has a black perforated dial with a contrasting minute scale on the outer perimeter and two clear sub-dials. Silver and blue elements provide the accents. The sub-dial at the 3 o'clock position is a 30-minute counter and the 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock. At the 9 o'clock position is the seconds hand. The date is placed at an unusual position at 11 o'clock and impresses with a skeletonized date wreath. The whole is suitably complemented by hand-finished hands - the hour and minute hands milled and polished; the second hand polished.
The dial is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The glass features high scratch resistance and excellent readability in direct light. Sapphire has also been used for the caseback, through which the operation of the specially decorated movement for the Robot can be observed.
The watch is powered by a Swiss La Joux-Perret L100 mechanical movement with a power reserve of up to 55 hours. With a frequency of 28,800 semi-frequencies per hour, the movement offers a winding crown, a stop-seconds function when setting the time (hacking), date and stopwatch.
The sandblasted case of the watch, made of grade 5 titanium, is complemented by a very comfortable perforated leather strap finished with a thorn buckle.
The water resistance of this model is 100 m, so the watch can easily handle swimming. Luminescence on the hands, lunette points and hour indexes ensures better legibility in low-light conditions. The case diameter is 44 mm, making the watch a great choice for individuals with larger wrists, but it fits well on most men's wrists.
A leather travel case for the watch is included.
The Aero Minor Sport race car was built on a shortened chassis of the Aero Minor II in 1949. Two prototypes were built in Letov specifically for the legendary Le Mans race, which both specials participated in phenomenally in the up to 750cc class.
Drivers Otto Krattner and František Sutnar, who raced number 58 in the 24 Hours, were ranked 2nd overall in the so-called performance coefficient behind the 12-cylinder Ferrari.

The Czech watch brand Robot was founded in 2018 out of a passion for precise craftsmanship, the beauty of mechanics, respect for craftsmanship and the rich Czech history in the field of design and industry, and last but not least, out of a desire to continue these values and create a product with Czech roots. Inspired by the moment in 1921 when Karel Čapek first used the word “robot”, it created watches that connect the legacy of Czech craftsmanship with innovation.
Robot watch production is located right in the heart of Czech watchmaking, Nové Město nad Metují, where they are created in the Bohematic manufactory. It is here, under the hands of passionate designers, designers and watchmakers, that Czech watches are created, fitted with high-quality Swiss mechanical movements by La Joux-Perret.
The brand’s goal is not to produce hundreds of thousands of watches per year. Production is small-scale, with a high proportion of manual labor and an emphasis on detail. It also allows the customer a high degree of product customization.
Watchmaking at Bohematic is perceived as a craft that combines art, design and precision engineering technologies. In other words, industries in which Czechs have achieved international fame.
Robot isn't just about watches, but also about stories. Each model line is design-related and connected to Czech personalities, history or products. The brand's offer does not include a wide range of models, but a selection of designs inspired by Czech history and industry, which cover all conceivable everyday needs and can also offer something extra in the form of originality and detailed workmanship.
Helveti.eu is an authorized retailer and specialist of the Robot brand.
