We've had the idea for a limited edition Helveti watch for a long time. It also took quite a long time to go from idea to design and then to realization. The whole process took us almost a year and is best summarized in the upcoming article about the watch. We launched the Helveti H01 to mark the anniversary of Helveti's 12 years on the market.
The manufacturer of the watch is San Martin, which met all our requirements for: materials, quality of the movement, affordability, a higher level of customisation and flexibility in delivery.
The result of our joint efforts is the Helveti H01 aviation watch, based on the B-Uhr Baumuster B model. It is equipped with a Japanese-made Epson YN55A automatic movement (equivalent to the Seiko NH35) with 22 jewels, running at a frequency of 21,600 semi-frequencies per hour, with a hacking function (stopping the second hand when the crown is pulled out) and a power reserve of 40 hours.
The movement is set in a bronze case (CuSn8 bronze). This is typical of its patination over time. However, the patina can be cleaned so you can keep the watch in like-new condition.
The black dial bearing the proud numeral 12 in red is covered by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment. At night, you will appreciate the very strong luminescence of the Super Luminova C3. The watch is not equipped with a date window, so it does not disturb anyone and the dial gives a clean impression.
The bronze case is closed with a screw-down steel case with information about the watch (limited edition number, water resistance, thank you and our logo). The height of the case is 12 mm, the diameter a pleasant 39 mm and the lug-to-lug dimension 49 mm. So the watch should fit most wrists and we hope to please some of the ladies as well. The weight is 90g, making it one of the lighter watches.
Thewater resistance of the watch is a sufficient 200m for swimming or light diving. Increased water resistance is provided by, among other things, the screw-down crown, which is signed with our simplified logo with the number 12. In the case of water fun, we recommend that you "change" the watch on the included NATO (parachute) strap, as the leather would suffer unnecessarily in the water.
The strap is leather, hand-stitched and fitted with a bronze buckle which is held in place by a screw pin. Our logo is also placed just above the buckle shank.
To make the project even more fun, we have packed the watch in a practical leather travel case (made in the Czech Republic) that can be used to carry up to 3 watches. In the case you will also find a spare strap (parachute), an extractor and an aviation keyring with the inscription "Remove before flight".
For us, this achievement has a mainly subjective value, as the watch refers to our 12 years in the watch business. It will thus serve as a souvenir for several colleagues and subsequently for you, our loyal customers. We wanted to create a watch that we ourselves would love to wear and with an emphasis on affordability/appropriate pricing.
At Helveti, we believe this is not the last limited edition we will produce with a manufacturer. We are already looking forward to a similar project in the future and hope you enjoy the watch.
