The Formex Stratos UTC Automatic 41mm Blue is a modern take on the pilot's watch by Swiss brand Formex. At first glance, it impresses with its distinctive, clearly recognizable case and perfectly legible dial. What you will appreciate most about the watch is its versatility; its set of features makes it destined for travel and, of course, for use in sports, in the water and as a reliable everyday accessory. Thanks to the GMT function, you can keep track of up to three time zones simultaneously on the watch.

The Formex Stratos UTC comes with a very intuitive and practical to operate true GMT. The ETA 2892 movement was chosen to power the watch with Formex's specially adapted Dubois-Dépraz module, which couldn't make time zone adjustments easier. Simply press one of the buttons on the side of the case to move the hour hand displaying the local time forward or backward by one hour, while the GMT hand remains in place. The date displayed in the sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position responds to the movement of the hour hand and is able to adjust forward or backward along with it. In addition, for quick adjustment of the correct date, we find a correction button on the left side of the case. Thus, there is no need to manipulate the screw-down crown to change the date. The last function is the day/night indicator of the local time at the 9 o'clock level, which is a handy helper when setting the watch.

The multi-layered case of the Formex Stratos UTC Automatic is made of steel and alternates brushed surfaces with sandblasted cut-outs, all complemented by fancy hand-polished lines. The case is dominated by a bi-directionally rotating 48-step lunette with a resin insert and 24-hour time markers. Despite its robust appearance, the case reaches a height of just 12 mm.
The case is complemented at the base by a leather strap finished with a folding buckle with an innovative system of fine micro-adjustment up to 7 mm. This can alternatively be exchanged for a steel link bracelet from the Essence collection with a fold-over clasp with micro-adjustment and the possibility of adjusting the length by up to 5 mm. Both the straps and bracelets are equipped with a quick-release system, making replacement very easy and tool-free.
The watch is powered by an ETA 2892 mechanical self-winding movement with Dubois-Dépraz attachment and a power reserve of around 42 hours. The movement with a frequency of 28,800 semi-frequencies per hour offers the possibility of winding with the crown, the function of stopping the seconds hand when setting the time (hacking). In addition to the date, the watch delights with the GMT function (display of the second time zone), allowing the display of up to three time zones using a 24-hour hand, a fixed 24-hour scale and a rotating lunette. The local time hand (hour hand) can be moved in separate hourly jumps with the side buttons, independently of the current time (true GMT) and, moreover, without the need to remove the crown. The water resistance of the watch is 100 m (10 ATM), supported by a screw-down crown and a dynek, and the watch can therefore easily withstand the rigours of water sports. The diameter of the case is 41 mm, so the watch fits perfectly on most men's wrists.

The classic hallmarks of the Formex Stratos UTC Automatic include a distinctive and easy-to-read dial, higher water resistance and a delicate micro-adjustable clasp. The clear dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating and high scratch resistance. Sapphire has also been used for the caseback, through which the operation of the decorated movement with blued screws can be observed. Better legibility in low light conditions is ensured by the luminescence (BGW9 Super-LumiNova) located on the hands and indexes.
The dial from the Formex workshop traditionally pleases with its precise workmanship at a very high level, including a sun-brushed centre surrounded by a circle with a coarser texture and original numeral font. The GMT hand is sufficiently contrasted for excellent clarity. The overall impression is enhanced by the sensitively designed time-of-day indicator at the 9 o'clock position and the date at 6 o'clock. What you will appreciate most about the watch is its versatility; its set of features makes it ideal for use in sports, in the water, but also when travelling and as an everyday accessory.

The watch can be supplied in combination with a steel bracelet finished with a butterfly clasp with a 4 mm extension, or a leather strap finished with a carbon folding clasp with an innovative system of fine micro-adjustment in the range of 7 mm. Adjustment of the length is easily made by pressing the side button without removing the watch from the hand.
