The Swiss Formex Essence FortyOne Automatic Chronometer Malachite Steel Bracelet 0334.1.6690. At first glance, the 100 model captivates with its striking faceted case featuring striking polished surfaces and a black mother-of-pearl dial that reveals subtle shades of pink, green, and silvery blue when light hits it. It is the first model in the Essence ThirtyNine collection to feature the newly adopted COSC-certified Sellita SW200-2 Power+ movement with an extended power reserve of 65 hours.

The malachite dial is one of the most striking features of this model. Each piece is crafted from natural stone, whose characteristic stripes, swirls, and color transitions—ranging from deep green to nearly black— create a unique pattern. As a result, no two dials are exactly alike. The organic structure of the stone is elegantly complemented by hand-applied hour markers and hands with mirror-polished facets, which create a striking contrast.
The name of this gemstone is said to be derived from the ancient Greek word “malache,” meaning mallow, because the stone resembles the color of mallow leaves. The spiritual meaning of malachite is transformation, and it is said to be the essence of joy—and there’s certainly some truth to that: just a glance at the marbling, swirls, and rings in the stone’s pattern is enough to bring a smile to your face.

The case of the Formex Essence FortyOne Automatic Chronometer Malachite watch is made of steel with a brushed finish, complemented by striking polished panels. The case is equipped with an innovative integrated Case Suspension System, which helps protect the movement from the effects of shocks. This new-generation case features a screw-down crown for even greater reliability during sports activities. Despite this technological enhancement, the case is only 10.6 mm thick. The case is complemented by a steel bracelet featuring a redesigned butterfly clasp that can be extended by 3 or 6 mm without having to open the clasp or remove the watch from the wrist.

The watch is powered by the newSellita SW200-2 Power+ (Chronometer Grade) self-winding mechanical movement, which is COSC-certified. Compared to the previous generation, it features a redesigned construction that has increased the power reserve from 41 to 65 hours without reducing the frequency. The movement thus continues to operate at a frequency of 28,800 half-vibrations per hour (4 Hz), which contributes to high accuracy and stability.
Of course, the movement includes crown winding, a hacking function to stop the seconds hand when setting the time, and a date display at the 6 o’clock position. 

The classic hallmarks of the Formex Essence FortyOne Automatic Chronometer Malachite include a distinctive dial made of natural semi-precious stone, the Case Suspension System, enhanced water resistance, and a buckle with fine micro-adjustment.
The easy-to-read dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with an internal anti-reflective coating and high scratch resistance. Sapphire is also used for the case back, through which one can observe the operation of the decorated movement with blued screws. Better readability in low-light conditions is ensured by luminescent material (BGW9 Super-LumiNova) applied to the hands and hour markers. It is precisely the unusually colorful dial and the high-gloss hour markers that create a very interesting effect. The overall impression is enhanced by the thoughtfully designed date window at the 6 o’clock position.

The case diameter is 41 mm, so the watch fits perfectly on most men’s wrists. The model is water-resistant to 100 m (10 ATM). You’ll especially appreciate the watch’s versatility; its features make it ideal for sports, water activities, and everyday use.

You can purchase a leather or rubber strap for the watch, featuring a carbon folding clasp with an innovative system for fine micro-adjustment within a 7 mm range. You can easily adjust the length by pressing the side button without having to remove the watch from your wrist.
