The Swiss Formex AirField Automatic Jet Black Khaki Green Nylon-Velcro 0661.1.6526.877 watch is based on the proven design of the Field series, complemented by distinctive aviation-inspired elements. It retains the characteristic lightweight and durable 40 mm titanium case, but now features a dial and hands designed with an emphasis on quick orientation and easy readability. The Jet Black version is the most understated variant of the new AirField collection, and its appearance is reminiscent of instruments in an aircraft cockpit.

The watch case is made of Grade 2 titanium with a specially hardened surface reaching a hardness of 900 Vickers ( compared to the original hardness of 145 Vickers), which significantly increases scratch resistance. All this while maintaining a low weight (the case weighs just 45 grams), high comfort, and the hypoallergenic properties of titanium.
The watch’s aviation theme is also reflected in the design of the titanium caseback, which features an embossed image of a star-shaped aircraft engine with a propeller.

The most striking change from the Field series is the new dial with aviation motifs. Its finely grained black surface is complemented by recessed Arabic numerals and broad sword-shaped hands. At the 12 o’clock position is the classic pilot’s triangle with two dots, which facilitates quick orientation. An interesting detail and a nod to aviation is the aircraft-shaped counterweight on the seconds hand. 

The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with an internal anti-reflective coating and high scratch resistance. Super-LumiNova® BGW09 Grade A luminescent material applied to the hands, numerals, and hour markers ensures better readability in low-light conditions. The recessed numerals and hour markers give the dial a visible sense of depth. All of this is accentuated by a thoughtfully designed date window at the 6 o’clock position, featuring a bezel matching the dial color.

The watch is powered by a Sellita SW200-2 Power+ self-winding mechanical movement with a power reserve of approximately 65 hours. The movement, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, naturally offers the option of winding via the crown and a hacking function to stop the seconds hand when setting the time.

The case is complemented by a very comfortable green elastic nylon strap, secured with a Velcro clasp, which allows for a comfortable fit on the wrist. 

This watch is water-resistant to 150 m, thanks to its screw-down crown and case back. The case diameter is 40 mm, so the watch fits perfectly on most men’s wrists.

A leather strap is available for purchase separately, featuring a carbon folding clasp with an innovative system for fine micro-adjustment within a 7 mm range. You can easily adjust the length by pressing the side button without having to remove the watch from your wrist.
