A ring-sized watch, a ring with a watch function, that's exactly what the hot new Casio Ring Watch CRW-001G-9ER is. A completely new style of digital watch - practical and playful at the same time - made possible by a miniature module and advanced metalworking technology.
Creating an all-metal version of Casio's ring-sized watch with a complex shape is no easy task. To achieve this, Casio had to use a special metal processing method, injecting a mixture of fine metal powders and resin into a mould. Using metal injection moulding (MIM), the case, back cover and ring are cast in one piece. In the case of the ring band, it can be noticed that the classic design on the strap of the Casio G-Shock watch has also been preserved and faithfully reproduced. A special glass bonding technique ensures a durable seal on the watch, which has achieved basic water resistance. Of course, the watch in the ring allows for battery replacement.
The inner diameter of the ring is 20 mm and the circumference is 62.8 mm. The ring thus fits a finger size of 20.5 EU (22 JP, 10.5 US, U UK).
Two size adjustment washers are included, Using these, the size can be adjusted to the size on:
19.5 EU (19 JP, 9.5 US, T UK) (19 mm inner diameter)
18.2 EU (16 JP, 8 US, Q UK) (18 mm inner diameter).
The smaller watch module is powered by a small button battery and housed in a case that can be operated by three buttons on the side. This creates a digital watch that fits on the finger.
Even at this small size, the watch features a 7-segment LCD display that shows the time, date, day of the week, dual time, stopwatch, alarm, 12/24 hour format and there is also the added feature of LED display illumination. The calendar on the watch is automatic (February with 28 days), so you don't have to worry about adjusting it over time.
There is also the practical function of lighting up the display when the alarm is activated.
