The Baume & Mercier Clifton 10870 is a limited-edition collection of elegant men’s watches thatcombines traditional Swiss watchmaking craftsmanship with the modern Baumatic in-house movement. The Clifton collection builds on the brand’s heritage and the design of classic watches from the 1950s, standing out for its clean lines, balanced proportions, and timeless elegance, which make the watch suitable for both everyday wear and formal occasions.

The most striking feature of the Baume & Mercier Clifton M0A10870 is its guilloché dial in a delicate glacier blue hue. The precise texture is complemented by an outer ring with a minute scale featuring a subtle sunburst finish. The design is rounded out by applied rhodium-plated trapezoidal hour markers, an Arabic numeral at the 12 o’clock position, and the distinctive alpha-shaped hands. The date window—which, as noted by , features a date ring in the same shade as the dial—is traditionally positioned at the 6 o’clock position.

The striking dial is protected bya sapphire crystal with high scratch resistance. It is also equipped with a double-sided anti-reflective coating, ensuring excellent readability even in direct sunlight. Sapphire is also used for the case back, through which the movement and its decoration can be observed. 

The watch is powered byan in-house mechanical movement, the Baumatic BM13-1975A, with an impressive power reserve of 120 hours (5 days). The self-winding movement, with a frequency of 28,800 half-vibrations per hour, naturally includes manual winding via the crown and a hacking function to stop the seconds hand when setting the time. The movement boasts high precision comparable to that of a chronometer.

The steel case, with an ideal diameter of 39 mm, is complemented by a three-row steel bracelet fastened with a butterfly clasp. It is precisely this bracelet, with its finely satin-finished surface, that enhances the watch’s versatility. Additionally, it is equipped witha quick-release system, making it very easy to replace even without tools.
An original leather strap is available for the watch; a nice detail is its slightly contoured end piece, which ensures the strap fits snugly against the case.

This model is water-resistant to 50 m, providing sufficient protection for everyday contact with water, such as when washing your hands or in the rain. The watch offers the option to extend the manufacturer’s warranty from the standard 2 years to 8years simply by registering the watch on the brand’s website.
