Baume & Mercier Clifton 10778 is a limited edition celebrating the elegant and timeless design of the Clifton range, characterised by its clarity and clean look, with roots dating back to the 1950s. The model is a great choice when choosing an elegant men's watch suitable for everyday use.
The limited edition comes with a redesigned 39 mm case and a dial shade with a vintage touch that evokes the charm of softness and warmth. The salmon colour was typical of watches in the 1930s and 1940s. For the dial, the careful work with the colours in an attempt to find the ideal tone between rose and peach and the perfect intensity between luminosity and depth deserves to be highlighted.
Thanks to new proportions and a matt finish, the round case with a matt finish achieves a certain delicacy. An interesting detail integrated into the case is the crown. The case measures 39 mm in diameter and 11.22 mm in height.
The new B&M Clifton model is a tribute to the brand's heritage in social watches, which traces its roots back to the 1950s.
The Baume & Mercier Clifton M0A10778 has a salmon-coloured dial with a contrasting black seconds hand and minute scale printed around the perimeter. The rhodium-plated alpha hands and applied needle indices at the hour positions, complemented by Arabic numerals at 12 o'clock, ensure clarity. The watch is powered by the in-house made Baumatic BM13-1975A mechanical movement with an impressive power reserve of 120 hours. The self-winding movement with a frequency of 28,800 semi-frequencies per hour offers the possibility of winding by crown, a stop-seconds function when setting the time (hacking) and a practical date function at the 6 o'clock position. The movement delights with precision comparable to chronometers.
The unmistakable dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with high scratch resistance. It is also equipped with double-sided anti-reflective coating, ensuring excellent legibility even in direct sunlight. Sapphire has also been used for the open caseback, through which the operation of the mechanical movement can be observed.
The steel case of the watch is complemented by an elegant black calfskin strap, which can be freely interchanged with the mocha leather strap included in the package. The straps are finished with a butterfly clasp. A nice detail is the slightly shaped end cap, which makes the straps fit down to the case. The straps are equipped with a quick-release system, making any replacement very easy without tools.
The water resistance of this model is 50 m. The diameter of the case is 39 mm, so the watch fits perfectly on most men's wrists. The watch will please the possibility of extending the manufacturer's warranty from the classic 2 years to 8 years, simply by registering the watch on the brand's website.
The limited edition is limited to just 350 pieces.
