Baume & Mercier Baume 10587 brings a minimalist design to the Baume range, characterised by its unusual and clean look. The model is a great choice when choosing an unconventional men's watch suitable for everyday use.
At first glance, the Baume range impresses with a distinctly different design within the brand. It builds on the avant-garde models the brand is historically associated with. Baume & Mercier Baume are a combination of creativity, comfort and the brand's concern for environmental protection. The line is characterised by 3 elements - a crown at the 12 o'clock position as a reminder of pocket watches, a strap attached to the moving parts for a more comfortable wearing and more comfort on the wrist, and straps without the classic system of stirrups, attached by buttons.
The Baume & Mercier Baume M0A10587 model has a very modern-looking multi-layered dark dial with hour markings on a recessed circle in the centre and minute markings placed classically around the perimeter of the dial. The contrasting blue hands ensure clarity.
The movement is powered by a Swiss mechanical movement with automatic winding Sellita SW200 with a power reserve of around 38 hours. The movement, with a frequency of 28,800 semi-frequencies per hour, offers the possibility of winding by crown, a stop-seconds function when setting the time (hacking) and a date display at the 6 o'clock position, where the use of a dark date wreath is pleasing.
The unmistakable dial is protected by a high-scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Sapphire has also been used for the caseback, through which the operation of the mechanical movement can be observed.
The aluminium case of the watch in traditional black is complemented by a grey strap with blue stitching, made of recycled plastic fabric fished from the sea with a cork lining, attached to the case on movable feet with buttons. This makes changing the strap, if necessary, very easy without tools.
The water resistance of this model is 30 m. The diameter of the case is 42 mm, so the watch fits perfectly on most men's wrists.
The Baume & Mercier Baume 10587 is a special edition watch, the result of a collaboration with the NGO Waste Free Oceans (WFO) and the SEAQUAL initiative, and reflects B& M's approach of combining environmental responsibility and innovation, two key concepts in the brand's philosophy.
