The Robot Graphic Sutnar collection merges Czech art with graphic design and pays tribute to the avant-garde artist Ladislav Sutnar, whose work achieved international acclaim and laid the foundations of modern visual communication, design, and typography.
Born in Plzeň in 1897, Ladislav Sutnar is one of the most significant figures of Czech interwar modernism and a key personality in American and global applied arts and design. His graphic work is notable for its contrast, clear information structure, and conceptual depth. His signature style includes diagonal compositions, decorative functional elements, geometric shapes, and original typography.
The standout feature of the watch is a large embossed dial featuring a font that Sutnar originally designed for building signage in New York’s Bronx. The distinctive dial is produced using electroforming, and the look is completed with milled hands coated with hand-applied luminescence. The titanium case is complemented by a hand-stitched strap from the Šíma Prague atelier.
The watch design was created by the Czech design studio Olgoj Chorchoj, founded by Michal Froňek and Jan Němeček.
