Victorinox knives date back to 1884, when Karl Elsener opened his knife workshop. Among his first customers was the Swiss Army, to which he supplied a revolutionary compact and durable knife. In its simplicity, it combined many functions. His invention, the original Swiss Army knife, has long since become legendary.
Over the years, both customer needs and technology have changed. The Swiss Army knife has evolved in line with these demands, while retaining its reputation as an indispensable tool that our customers can rely on. Victorinox also began manufacturing pliers - multitools, which it calls SwissTool.
Victorinox knives are distinguished by their consistent quality, incredible versatility, and, one might say, indispensability. Almost everyone knows them, but often under a different name: Swiss Army knife, red knife, officer's knife, army knife, folding knife, etc.
