The German Laco Aachen Blaue Stunde 39 watch impresses at first glance with its typical pilot's design, which is characterised by its cleanliness and great clarity, making it very popular not only among watch fans.
The name Blaue Stunde (blue hour), as well as the blue dial with sunburst, refers to the period at dusk and dawn (roughly one hour after sunset or before sunrise), when the sky takes on its typical dark blue colour.
The steel case of the Laco Flieger Aachen Blaue Stunde 39 has a finely brushed finish and is complemented by a grey nylon strap. It is powered by a mechanical movement with Laco 2S automatic winding (Miyota 82S0 based), offering a power reserve of around 42 hours, a stop-seconds function when setting the time (hacking) and a manual winding option. Many will enjoy the possibility of observing the movement through an open caseback with a sapphire crystal. The water resistance of this watch is 50 m (5 ATM). The diameter of the case is 39 mm, the length (lug-to-lug) is 46.5 mm, so the watch fits well on most men's wrists.
The classic hallmarks of the Laco Aachen Blaue Stunde 39, inspired by aviation style, include the distinctive and easy-to-read hands and indices at the hour positions, and the distinctive bulbous crown, which is easy to operate even with gloves. The perfectly clear B dial is protected by a high-scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The B-Uhr type B dial features a minute scale printed around the perimeter of the dial, with an arrow at the 12 o'clock position for quick orientation for aviators and an hour scale printed on the inner circle. Luminescence, located on the hands, numerals and indices, provides better legibility in low light conditions.

The origin of the Laco brand dates back to 1925, when Frieda Lacher and Ludwig Hummel founded a company called Lacher & Co in Pforzheim, hence the name Laco. The brand is best known for its pilot watches produced during World War II - it was one of the five brands that produced watches for German Luftwaffe pilots.
