The steel case of the Laco Flieger Aachen 39 is complemented by a brown leather strap with contrasting white stitching and distinctive rivets. It is powered by a mechanical movement with Laco 21 automatic winding (Miyota 821A base), offering a power reserve of around 42 hours, a stop-seconds function when setting the time (hacking) and the option of manual winding. Many will enjoy the possibility of observing the movement's operation through a transparent caseback with a sapphire crystal. The water resistance of this watch is 50 m (5 ATM), so it can handle swimming. The diameter of the case is 39 mm, the length (lug-to-lug) is 46.5 mm, so the watch fits well on most men's wrists.

The classic hallmarks of the Laco Aachen 39, inspired by aviation style, include the distinctive and easy-to-read hands and indices at the hour positions, and the distinctive bulbous crown, which is easy to operate even with gloves. The perfectly clear B-type dial is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The B-Uhr type B dial features a minute scale printed around the perimeter of the dial, with an arrow at the 12 o'clock position for quick orientation for aviators and an hour scale printed on the inner circle. Luminescence, located on the hands, numerals and indices, provides better legibility in low light conditions.
