The Casio A159WEVJ-7ER Seigaiha from the Vintage Collection series is a suitable choice for both men and ladies thanks to its retro design. This model celebrates exceptional Japanese aesthetics and "Made in Japan" quality. In fact, it is based on the iconic design of the A159 series and is manufactured at the Yamagata Casio parent factory in Japan.
Popular among watch fans for over four decades, the retro design takes inspiration from traditional Japanese culture. An unmissable feature of the watch is the digital display surrounded by the traditional Japanese Seigaiha (stylized sea wave ) pattern. This geometric motif of overlapping concentric arcs has a thousand-year history and in Japanese culture symbolizes peace, harmony and the wish for lasting happiness. The dial was created by vapor deposition and conventional printing. The result is an interesting motif in a silver-grey shade, which changes its intensity and colour depending on the angle of view and the light incident.
The digital display shows the time, date, day of the week, stopwatch, alarm clock. The calendar is fully automatic on the watch, so you don't have to worry about adjusting it over time. Moreover, the watch offers an hourly signal and a choice between 12/24-hour time display format. For better readability in low light conditions, the watch is equipped with LED display illumination. The display is protected by a resin glass.
The resin case is complemented by a simple steel bracelet, which is popular for its design and easy length adjustment. The face of the watch bears special markings, the brand name rendered in English and also in Japanese katakana (カシオ), underlining the unique character of this special edition.
With a case size of 33.2 × 36.8 mm, the watch is one of the smaller, yet very comfortable models. The water resistance of this model is 30 m, providing basic protection against accidental contact with water during hand washing or rain.
Casio Collection Vintage A159WEVJ-7 Seigaiha comes in a special package with Seigaiha wave graphics, making it an interesting collector's piece or an exceptional gift.
An interesting feature of the 593 used is the extremely long battery life, up to 7 years.
