Bulova Automatic Latin Grammy Edition 97A186 impresses with its horizontally structured white dial with a transparent flywheel and rose gold-tone case. This model, part of the Grammy series, refers to the world of music and Bulova' s collaboration with the famous Latin Grammy Awards, presented annually by The Latin Recording Academy.
The steel case with a rose gold IP finish is rendered in the popular 1970s style. The white dial's texture and index shape was inspired by the guiro instrument and the mallet used to play the guiro. Another unmissable feature is the movement's flywheel at the seven o'clock position and the contrasting off-centre seconds hand in the sub-dial at the five o'clock position. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal. So you don't have to worry about scratching it.
The case is complemented by a black silicone strap finished with an elegant butterfly clasp. Of course, the watch also refers to the cooperation with the Academy of Music with a specially designed bezel bearing the Academy's logo.
The watch is powered by a Miyota 82S7 mechanical movement with automatic winding and a power reserve of around 42 hours. The water resistance of the model is 30 m, so it can handle accidental contact with water during hand washing and rain. Thanks to the 38 mm case diameter , the watch is a suitable choice for both gentlemen and ladies.
This model refers to Bulova's collaboration with the famous Grammy Award, awarded annually by the National Academy of Music Arts and Sciences in the USA for outstanding achievements in the music industry. The history of this prestigious award, which is considered the musical equivalent of the Academy Awards (Oscars), dates back to 1958. Awarded artists are presented with a gold gramophone on a black backing board at the ceremony. Bulova's partnership with the Grammys is symbolised by the Grammy logo on the watch face. The Latin Grammy Awards , which also fall under the US National Academy of Arts and Sciences, began in 2000.
