Pilot watches are an extra strong point of the Swiss brand Fortis. As early as 1929, British journalist Grace Drummond-Hay took a Fortis Harwood watch on a round-the-world trip on Zeppelin LZ 127. It was the first ever round-the-world flight of an automatic watch. In 1995, Fortis watches were part of the flight in which Alexandre Paringaux reached a height of 30,540 m in a Mig-25 PU, setting a world record in the civil sphere. Today, Fortis watches are popular with many professional pilots and are also the official timepieces of the following organizations and aviation groups, among others:
