The Zeppelin LZ 129 Hindenburg Solar 8086-5_n from the LZ129 Hindenburg model series features a unique, clearly designed dial. It is especially appreciated by lovers of social watches, but the model is also ideal for everyday wear.
The Zeppelin LZ129 Hindenburg Solar 8086-5_n is powered by a Japanese solar-powered Seiko VR42A movement, which features a rust indicator, 24-hour time display, date and stopwatch functions. The stopwatch, with the ability to measure up to half-hourly intervals, can be controlled by the side buttons - the top button starts and stops the stopwatch, while the bottom button resets the readings to zero. The timeless and clear dial is complemented by white numerals and discreet hands. The steel case is complemented by a black leather strap. The dial is protected by a hardened mineral glass. With a case diameter of 41 mm, it is a medium-sized men's watch. Considering the model's designation, the water resistance is sufficient 50 meters - the watch can handle contact with water during hand washing, rain, and occasionally a shower.
In addition to the already mentioned parameters, the advantage of the watch is certainly the solar power supply, in which the watch battery is recharged by light - its endurance is significantly higher than a conventional battery, eliminating the need for regular 2 to 3 years of replacement.
The strap of this watch is made of vegan leather, which is 45% synthesized from vegetable oils. This watch is thus part of our Sustainable Planet programme, which aims to raise the profile of innovative technologies, products and companies. Nowadays, materials can increasingly be replaced by eco-friendly alternatives without compromise. BioVeg, which looks and feels like soft leather, is the result of more than four years of research and development. 45% of the polymers needed are synthesised from vegetable oils, with a further 25% coming from recycled plastics. BioVeg thus requires 70% less fossil resources than conventional synthetic leather, is also much more durable and saves a significant amount of CO2 emissions during production.
The vegetable oils are extracted from plants that are grown in special fields strictly without genetic engineering and are not suitable for consumption. One of the reasons why this material has a much smaller ecological footprint than conventional artificial leather
All models in the LZ Hindenburg Ed. 1 series refer to the legendary German airship LZ 129 Hindenburg built in 1935.
