Since its founding in 1858, the family-owned company Vulcain has been synonymous with complex watch complications. The brand, founded by the Ditisheim brothers—experienced watchmakers— quickly gained recognition in the Neuchâtel Mountains—the heart of Swiss watchmaking precision—thanks to its award-winning minute repeaters, magnificent and delicate sonneries, and perpetual calendars.
The year 1947 marked a pivotal moment for Vulcain, when the world’s first wristwatches with an alarm featuring a striking mechanism were launched: the Cricket, which became the signature of the Vulcain brand. With the sound of a very energetic and determined cricket, you no longer have to worry about oversleeping. A world first, the Vulcain Cricket soon became very fashionable and earned the nickname“The President’s Watch,”as President Harry S. Truman and his successors—Eisenhower, Nixon, and Johnson—also found it quite useful.
This new creation combines the lightness of titanium with the iconic in-house Cricket movement and a guilloché dial.
The Vulcain V10 in-house movement operates at a frequency of 18,000 half-vibrations per hour, features manual winding, and offers a 52-hour power reserve. The alarm duration is approximately 20 seconds.
The Vulcain Cricket Titane is a limited edition of 100 pieces.
