It is fitted with 23 jewels and its 21,600 semi-frequencies per hour can be observed through the transparent dial. The movement is "built" on the basis of the ETA 2824 variant. The flywheel of this movement is made of Nivachron alloy, which is more resistant to magnetic fields and temperature changes and has the effect of improving the accuracy of the watch. Besides the time function, it is also equipped with a date display. This can be found at the 3 o'clock index. The machine also has a hacking function (stopping the second hand when setting the time) and the possibility of manual winding.

The Tissot Sideral S T145.407.97.057.01 refers to the original version of the watch from 1971, the case of which was made of fibreglass, an innovative material for watchmaking at the time. The case of the current model is made of a combination of steel (caseback, crown) and carbon. The blue minute scale stands out on the black dial, which features a countdown for yacht racing between the indices 12 and 2. The case also includes a unidirectional rotating lunette with a scale for diving and yacht racing. Reading the time on the watch will not be a problem even in low light conditions. Not only the hands are covered with Super-LumiNova luminescence, but also the entire minute scale and indices on the lunette. An interesting feature is the use of the same Tissot logo on the left side as on the original model from the 1970s.

The black and blue dial is protected by a convex sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, which is highly resistant to scratches. Thanks to its water resistance to 300 metres (10 ATM ), the watch does not need to be removed from the wrist even when swimming, snorkelling or diving.
