The Timex TW2V695007U from the Reissue Collection, a reissue of the Timex World Time 1972, brings the unique design from the 1970s back to life.
The watch was originally created for stylish travellers in the golden age of jets. Its rotating lunette marks Greenwich Mean Time and follows the names of 23 cities around the world, making it easy to read the time in any time zone at a glance.
Other details such as the barrel-shaped case, minimalist dial, geometric red seconds hand and domed glass were all supremely cool in 1972 - making this watch a faithful homage to the original and a stylish accessory for any modern traveller.
A combination of polished and brushed finishes are applied to the 39mm diameter steel case. The black and white dial serves as a backdrop for the distinctive but elegant hands and indexes - both of which are luminescent. The model features a simple date window located at the traditional 3 o'clock position. All protected by an acrylic glass.
The battery-powered quartz watch has a water resistance of 50 m ( 5 ATM), so it can handle basic contact with water when washing hands, in the rain or in the shower. The model features a black leather strap with a width of 20 mm, so frequent contact with water is not highly recommended. However, thanks to the Quick Release system, you can conveniently accessorize the watch with a sportier silicone strap, for example.

Timex is an American brand of affordable watches that was founded in 1854 in Waterbury, Connecticut, where it is still based today. The manufacturer currently focuses on the production of a wide range of different types of watches, from the purely sporty digital Ironman (for example, this model from the 90s is legendary) to the formal mechanical Marlin or the very popular and extremely well-designed retro series Q Reissue, which is based on everyday watches from the 70s to 90s.
Over the decades, watches from this manufacturer have rightly earned a reputation for excellent price-performance ratio, which is of course very welcome for "normal" daily wear. A synonym for Timex is their slogan 'It takes a licking and keeps on ticking', which the company started using in the 1950s.
Nowadays, Timex is notorious for numerous collaborations with well-known and lesser-known brands and personalities, which often result in unique and highly collectible pieces. The first significant collaboration of this kind saw the light of day in 1930, when Timex released a series of watches inspired by Mickey Mouse together with the Disney company - which actually saved them from financial collapse at the time.
