PRIM St. Wenceslas is a classic social watch with an unusual dial design from the popular Linea series. The watch commemorates the legacy of St. Wenceslas - an important historical figure and patron saint of the Czech lands. The indexes marked with Roman numerals stand out on the elegant dial. The decorous inscription praises the most famous Czech saint with a Latin inscription reading " Sanctus Venceslaus, Dux Bohemiae, Dei Gratia", i.e. "Saint Wenceslaus, by God's grace, Prince of Bohemia".
The watch belongs to the PRIM Automatic series and is equipped with a high-quality Swiss movement ETA 2824-2 with automatic winding, which stands out thanks to the glass back cover. The other components of the watch, such as the case, crown, hands or dial, were manufactured in our company's manufactory in Nové Město. The models in this series bear the designation PRIM AUTOMATIC. This designation is based on the history of ELTON - the classic PRIM logo, created in 1969 by the engineer and designer Josef Žid, is complemented by the inscription AUTOMATIC in the form used since 1978 on watches with a modified automatic movement.
The simple "standing" PRIM logo was also created by Josef Žid because the national company ELTON started producing ladies' watches at that time. The original " loaf" logo was unsatisfactory because its complexity made it difficult to read on the smaller dial of ladies' watches. The second reason was thateven the designers in socialist Czechoslovakia, who were responsible not only for the technical aspect but also for the appearance of the watches, followed world trends. Traditional brands at that time mostly used such minimalist and design-clean logos.
