The Orient Star RE-AY0202A M34 F7 Moon Phase, named after the star cluster in the constellation Perseus, is a limited edition watch belonging to the Contemporary series. Its features make it an ideal piece for everyday wear, but its elegant look also makes it suitable for company.

The limited edition's bright mother-of-pearl dial is inspired by the ephemeral light of the aurora borealis as seen in the sky at dawn. The motif of the changing colours of the aurora borealis, floating in the misty pale atmosphere just before sunrise, was the inspiration. This phenomenon is beautifully captured by the grey pearlescent dial, whose shades change depending on the angle of view.

The case of the OrientRE-AY0202A00Bis made of stainless steel, the surface of which is treated with a special Sallaz polishing method, also known as black polishing, because the polished surface is so perfectly smooth that it appears black from a certain angle.
Inside the case we find the Orient F7M65 mechanical movement, which is equipped with an automatic winding and a power reserve of 50 hours. The movement excels in precision with a maximum of +15/-5 s/day. This movement is decorated with Geneva stripes and bevelled polished edges and also features a stopping second hand when the watch is set ( hacking). An interesting complication is the winding power reserve indicator at the 12 o'clock position and the moonphase date displayed in the sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position. The movement, operating at a frequency of 21,600 semi-frequencies/hour, can be observed thanks to the transparent caseback.

The simple, perfectly clear grey mother-of-pearl dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with a double-sided anti-reflective coating(SAR Super Anti-reflective). The watch delights with details in the form of embossed indices at the hour positions or dauphine hands.
The water resistance of this model is 100 m, so the watch does not need to be removed when showering or swimming. The watch comes on a steel bracelet with a fold-over clasp. With a case diameter of 40 mm, this model will also please gentlemen looking for a smaller watch.
