The ’70s have never been so in style—the colors, materials, design… Vintage chronographs are experiencing a real boom today. They’re making a grand comeback, much to the delight of collectors and everyone who looks back with nostalgia on more than just the disco era.

For this edition, Nivada Grenchen drew inspiration from its legendary Chronomaster model and created a new version based on the vintage Chronoking dial straight out of the wild and wonderful 1970s. Originally, the“SingerNewman”-style sub-dials were set on a tonneau-shaped case housing the Valjoux 72 caliber, and behind this very special dial lay a very special name: Jean Singer, a leading dial manufacturer based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, known for producing some of the most famous and highly collectible exotic dials the watchmaking world has ever seen—and continues to see. Dials such as the striking Speedmaster Racing, the dynamic Heuer Skipper, or the intensely blue Nina by Universal were all crafted by this one and only Jean Singer.

The Nivada Chronoking is equipped with the proven TMI VK63A Mecaquartz movement. At the push of a button, the chronograph hand glides smoothly across the dial with the same finesse we love in mechanical watches. The Mecaquartz movement combines the precision of a quartz mechanism with the feel of a mechanical movement —the best of traditional and avant-garde design. The quartz component keeps time, while the mechanical component ensures the smooth operation of the chronograph. This is precisely why they are often referred to as hybrid mechanisms.

The case , with its appealing dimensions of 38 x 13.4 x 46.5 mm, fits perfectly on any wrist. Thanks to its size and 10 ATM water resistance, you’ve got your everyday watch covered!
