At first glance, the German Laco Mülheim an der Ruhr Erbstück impresses with its typical pilot design, which is characterised by its cleanliness and excellent clarity, making it very popular not only among watch fans.

Inspired by the original observation watches from the 1940s, the models in the Laco Pilot Original collection have a case diameter of 55 mm and look as if they have been worn by several generations. The handmade watches of the Erbstück collection are unique in their appearance and manufacturing process. The traces of ageing give these watches a historical charm that can usually only be found on original models.
Laco uses a unique method to give the watches a historic look and create a natural patina. Grooves, scratches, signs of wear and patina all look authentic and the watch looks period. The treatment does not only affect the case, but also the dial, strap and hands, where even a piece of luminescence may be missing. All the parts are modified by hand, and the result of the demanding process is always a unique and original watch.

Laco Mülheim an der Ruhr Erbstück is based on the original pilot's watches used during World War II. The sandblasted steel case of the Laco Flieger Original Mülheim an der Ruhr Erbstück with straight legs is complemented by a brown leather strap with distinctive rivets, all bearing a distinctive trace of patina and use. The side of the case bears the FL23883 marking, which was the classification number and can also be found on the caseback along with the unit number, manufacturer and machine designation. On historic models, this information was placed on the inside of the dagger. The water resistance of this watch is 50 m (5 ATM). The case diameter is 39 mm, the length (lug-to-lug) is 46 mm, so the watch fits well on most men's and women's wrists.

The classic hallmarks of the Laco Mülheim an der Ruhr Erbstück pilot's watch include the distinctive and easy-to-read hands and indices at the hour positions, a large crown that is easy to operate even with gloves. The perfectly clear A-type dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating and high scratch resistance. The iconic dial is presented without a logo, as on the original. The luminescence on the hands, numerals and indices ensures better legibility in low-light conditions. The watch hands are thermal blue.

The movement is powered by a Laco 210 mechanical movement with manual winding (based on the Sellita SW210 Elaboré - tested in 3 positions, accuracy +/- 14 s/day) with a power reserve of around 42 hours. The machine with a frequency of 28800 semi-frequencies per hour offers a function of stopping the seconds hand when setting the time (hacking).
