The German Junghans Meister Pilot Small Second Navy Blue 27/4491.00 from the Meister series is a reincarnation of the legendary Junghans watches that were supplied to German Bundeswehr pilots after 1955. They are still in production today, virtually unchanged.
The Junghans Meister Pilot 27/4491.00 is equipped with a J880.1.6 self-winding movement based on the Swiss Sellita SW261 movement. The manufacturer incorporates it into the watch in an Elaboré finish with enhanced shock protection (Incabloc) and a tuned maximum daily deviation of +/- 14 seconds. The power reserve is up to 38 hours. At the six o'clock position we find an off-centre seconds hand, and at the unusual 12 o'clock position is a date display that evokes the instruments on the dashboard of an aircraft. The case of this watch is made of stainless steel with DLC treatment, which brings high resistance to scratches.
The dial, which is dominated by distinctive numerals, isprotected by a sapphire crystal that is maximally scratch-resistant. An added value is the anti-reflective coating on both the inside and outside of the glass, which makes the watch perfectly legible even in bright sunlight. The lunette is bi-directionally rotatable. Water resistance is 100 meters (10 ATM), so the watch can handle contact with water, such as swimming.
