The best-selling Hamilton Murph model, in the popular 38 mm size, is getting a fresh look with a stunning dial that transitions from blue to black and is inspired by an interstellar comet. The radiant blue center reflects the glow of ionized gases in space and gradually darkens toward the edges, perfectly capturing the infinite depth of interstellar space.
A grainy texture reminiscent of stardust enhances the dial’s three-dimensional character, while the slightly raised numerals and the famous cathedral-style hands preserve the Murph’s unmistakable signature style. The look is completed by a black leather strap with contrasting white stitching, making this version yet another classic interpretation of the iconic film piece.
The watch made a striking appearance in the famous film *Interstellar* (2014), where it was worn on the wrist of Murph Cooper, portrayed by actress Jessica Chastain.
With its vintage-style beige hands featuring a Super-LumiNova® coating and a black leather strap, it reflects the key aesthetic elements of its 42mm predecessor. This Khaki Field Murph Auto model, powered by the H-10 automatic movement with an 80-hour power reserve, will capture the hearts of those who love smaller watches.
The entire Khaki Field collection is designed primarily for excellent readability, which was of the utmost importance for military use. Khaki Field watches are crafted for life’s adventurers and are guaranteed to meet your needs in the field.
Inside the case, the Swiss-made Hamilton H-10 mechanical movement (based on the ETA C07.611, which is based on the ETA 2824-2) with automatic winding ticks reliably. It operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, features 25 jewels, and, most importantly, offers an extended power reserve of 80 hours. The movement also features a “hacking” function (stopping the seconds hand for setting the time) and the option of manual winding via the crown.
The watch’s steel case is complemented by a high-quality black leather strap with a silver pin buckle.
The model stands out for its excellent readability and clear layout, which are essential for military watches. The dial, whose design clearly draws inspiration from military models, is protected by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Sapphire crystal is a major advantage in watches, as it is virtually impossible to scratch. The anti-reflective coating ensures excellent readability even in bright sunlight.
The hands and hour markers are coated with a Superluminova luminescent compound, which ensures longer-lasting luminosity.
Thanks to the 38 mm case diameter, these watches are suitable for both men with smaller wrists and women with larger wrists. The watch is water-resistant to 100 m (10 ATM), so it can handle even extended contact with water, such as swimming. However, before swimming, we recommend switching the watch to a different, water-resistant strap.
And why is the watch called “Murph”? Because this model—in its original 42 mm size and with a black dial (ref. H70605731)—was worn on the wrist of a character named Murph in the very famous American film *Interstellar*.
The original leather strap for this model is labeled H6000001431.
A steel bracelet ( H6050000281) is also available for purchase for this watch.

The Hamilton brand was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, originally to produce only pocket watches. Thanks to the accuracy of the Hamilton watch, the problem of frequent accidents in the early days of railroad transportation in the United States was solved. It was the superior quality and accuracy of the first Hamilton pocket watches, as well as the ability to innovate and act quickly while maintaining high standards, that first caught the attention of the US military as early as 1914. As an official supplier to the US armed forces during World War I, Hamilton equipped hundreds of soldiers with reliable watches. This led to a shift in production from pocket watches to more comfortable wristwatches, a change that has stuck.
Groundbreaking, practical and precise: Hamilton uses a unique combination of Swiss precision and American spirit to create distinctive, versatile watches for style-conscious lovers. Hamilton has a long history and has achieved numerous milestones, all of which have contributed to making Hamilton the strong and internationally recognized watch brand it is today.
Helveti.eu is an authorized dealer and specialist of the Hamilton brand.
