In 1961, Edox introduced the Delfin model and made its mark on the history of watchmaking. Thanks to its double caseback and specially designed sealing system, Edox established itself as a leading manufacturer of water-resistant watches and earned the enduring title of “The Water Champion” of Swiss watchmaking.
It was these very watches that were worn by cliff divers in Acapulco, and they withstood even the most extreme conditions nature could throw at them. They were not made for display cases, but for the depths.
Sixty-five years later, Edox pays tribute to this pivotal chapter in its history with a faithful reissue of the original model —not out of nostalgia, but out of respect for the icon that started it all. The rounded case, the clean design of the dial, the date window, the domed sapphire crystal, and the screw-down crown—every detail has been carefully preserved to evoke the character of the original.
The new model has a diameter of 41 mm and is water-resistant to 200 m (20 ATM), allowing it to meet current standards without losing any of its original DNA. No exaggeration. No unnecessary embellishments. Just a meticulously crafted watch with a history spanning more than sixty years. The case is 12.7 mm thick, and the watch weighs 168 g.
The Delfin series logo is precisely engraved on the case back. Each piece comes in an exclusive metal box inspired by the advertising aesthetics of the era, as a tribute to the bold graphic design that accompanied the Delfin model in its early days. The package also includes an additional leather strap with a quick-release system, offering another way to wear a piece of history.
