The Citizen Photon Eco-Drive 50thAnniversary Limited Edition BJ6560-53W men's watch delivers an unusual design and, most importantly, an Eco-Drive movement that provides power through light energy (eliminating the need to replace the battery). This model was produced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Eco-Drive solar drive and was produced in a limited edition of only 5000 units for the whole world.
The Citizen BJ6560-53W watch has a case including the bracelet made of Super Titanium™ with a Duratect finish), thus achieving a light weight and ensuring total anti-allergy. Inside the case is the in-house Citizen E036 movement, which features a light rechargeable battery with a runtime reserve of up to 1 year as well as a low battery indicator function.
The unique dial of this model has been made from recycled polycarbonate, printed with structural coloured ink. This causes the dial to change colour and depth at the slightest movement of the wrist. This technology was developed by Fujifilm. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal that provides maximum protection against scratches. The anti-reflective coating then allows for excellent legibility even in direct sunlight. In low light conditions, you will appreciate the luminescence on the hands and indexes. The water resistance of this watch is 50m and can therefore withstand contact with water, such as rain or showers.
This model was made to commemorate 50 years of the light-powered technology we know today as Eco-Drive. Citizen was the first to introduce a solar-powered watch. This was the Crystron Solar Cell, which saw the light of day in 1976. Citizen has the most experience in manufacturing solar-powered watches and is the absolute leader in this field.
