With the Certina DS Super PH2000M Titanium C050.607.44.361.02, Certina pushes the boundaries of its diving watch collection even further and introduces the first watch in the PH series designed for depths of up to 2,000 meters below the ocean’s surface. This new generation, based on the brand’s DS concept introduced in 1959 and the PH diving watches launched in the 1960s, doubles previous performance standards, reaches a depth of 2,000 meters, and is additionally equipped with the latest evolution of the Double Security system: the DS Extreme Shock Resistance concept.
The Certina C050.607.44.361.02, with high water resistance (PH = “Pression Hydrostatique 2000 mètres”),features a date display,a screw-down crown, and a screw-down caseback. The intricately designed yellow dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. The watch case is made of Grade 2 titanium, a very lightweight and hypoallergenic material. The case is paired with a titanium bracelet, and the package also includes a black rubber strap. Thanks to the ceramic insert in the diving bezel, this watch further emphasizes its diving style. The hands and hour markers on the dial, as well as the center dot on the bezel, are coated with Super-LumiNova® luminescent material, so you don’t have to worry about the dial being difficult to read in low-light conditions.
The Swiss ETA Powermatic 80.611 movement features 25 jewels and offers a power reserve of up to 80 hours. The movement operates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 half-vibrations per hour). The balance spring of this movement is made of a Nivachron alloy, which is more resistant to magnetic fields and temperature changes and contributes to the watch’s improved accuracy.
The model features the new “DS Concept Extreme Shock Resistance” technology. This is an enhanced version of the DS (Double Security System) technology, which increases the watch’s durability, shock resistance, and water resistance.Three key elements have been added to the case design: 1.An ultra-thin metal plate is positioned between the dial and the movement, ensuring greater stability for both components; 2. The movement is secured inside the case with a thin screw-on ring nut, which ensures increased stability, especially in the event of vibrations; 3.a reinforced sapphire crystal, which is also domed to better distribute the shock wave in the event the watch is dropped.
