The Certina DS Action Chronograph C048.417.37.051.03 men's watch appeals to its owners primarily through its elegant appearance, attractive all-metal design, and precise craftsmanship.
The Certina C048.417.37.051.03, part of the DS Action model series, features a date window at the 4 o’clock position and is water-resistant to 300 meters (30 bar), making it suitable for everyday swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The high water resistance is further enhanced by a screw-down crown and screw-down chronograph pushers. Time underwater can be read using a unidirectional rotating bezel with an aluminum insert and a luminescent marker at the 12 o’clock position.
The watch offers a useful stopwatch function with accuracy to one-tenth of a second and the ability to time events for up to 30 minutes. The intricately designed black dial with orange hour markers is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal that is resistant to any scratches. The hands and hour markers are coated with a SuperLuminova luminescent layer, which makes it easier to read the time in low-light conditions. The watch case is made of stainless steel with a black PVD coating. It is complemented by an orange rubber strap with a pin buckle.
The Swiss ETA G10.212 Precidrive movement guarantees accuracy with a maximum deviation of ±10 seconds per year and an incredible ±0.027 seconds per day, and also features an end-of-life (EOL) indicator.
The model features the new “DS Concept Extreme Shock Resistance” technology. This is an enhanced version of the DS (Double Security System) technology, which increases the watch’s durability, shock resistance, and water resistance.Three key elements have been added to the case design: 1.An ultra-thin metal plate is positioned between the dial and the movement, ensuring greater stability for both components; 2. The movement is secured inside the case with a thin screw-on ring nut, which ensures increased stability, especially in the event of vibrations; 3.a reinforced sapphire crystal, which is also domed to better disperse the shock wave in the event the watch is dropped.
