The Bulova Automatic 98A330 Kalil House from the Frank Lloyd Wright collection represents a unique fusion of the world of watchmaking and architecture. They are a tribute to one of Frank Lloyd Wright's most famous buildings - the Toufic H. Kalil House, part of Wright's Usonian Automatic collection.
The dial design is meticulously detailed. The textured pattern in shades of grey and green evokes the house and its wooded surroundings, while mimicking its most eye-catching feature, the modular block construction with a series of rectangular windows that are characteristic of the building. A glimpse of the dial section reveals the heart of the watch - the inertia of the automatically driven Miyota movement. Here, too, we can feel connected to the architect - the use of an automatic movement resonates with Kalil's nickname "Automatic".
The 39 mm diameter case is made of stainless steel with IP surface treatment in grey tones. The alternation of polished and brushed parts creates an interesting contrast. The case is complemented by a brown leather strap 20 mm wide with black stitching. It is finished with a thorn buckle with the architect's signature.
The dial of the watch is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective glass, ensuring excellent readability in direct light. The watch face is glazed and decorated with an open block motif, the name of the 1955 Kalil house and the Frank Lloyd Wright logo.
The watch is powered by a self-winding Miyota 82S0 mechanical movement with a power reserve of around 42 hours. The water resistance of the watch is 30 m, so it can withstand contact with water when washing hands, rain.
