The Bulova 96B415 Jet Star pays homage to one of Bulova’s iconic models, the 1973 Jet Star “F”—this time from the 1970s—which marks its 50th anniversary this year. Bulova has faithfully captured the look and overall feel of the original Jet Star model and equipped this new release with intriguing movements—specifically, the high-frequency Bulova Manufacture Precisionist High Precision Quartz movements. The movement is characterized by high accuracy and a smooth-running seconds hand (the original model was powered by automatic movements and featured day and date displays). The watches captivate not only with their design and craftsmanship but, above all, with their nod to the 1970s—a decade we associate with many significant models and milestones in the watchmaking industry.
The Archive Series, which aims to pay homage to Bulova’s iconic models that have made their mark on history through their designs, features, and more, follows the highly successful Bulova Lunar Pilot, Computron, Devil Diver, and others, now presents a reinterpretation of the iconic 1970s Bulova 1973 Jet Star “F.”
The case of the Bulova 96B415 Jet Star is made of stainless steel, and its design is based on the Bulova 1973 Jet Star “F.” The watch is powered by a high-performance NM10 quartz movement (HPQ—High Precision Quartz), operating at a frequency of 262 kHz. This is roughly 8 times higher than that of standard quartz movements (32,768 Hz). This enables high accuracy, with a deviation of ±5 seconds per month.
The perfectly legible burgundy-red dial, featuring applied hour markers and clear hands, is protected by a domed sapphire crystal with high scratch resistance. The battery-powered movement, operating at a frequency of 262 kHz, features a date window at the 3 o’clock position. The watch comes on a steel bracelet. You can easily swap out the bracelet thanks to the quick-release system, which comes in handy since leather straps also look great on this watch.The 40 mm case diameter ensures that the watch fits perfectly on virtually any wrist. The model is water-resistant to 50 m.
