The Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon AeroGMT II Meteorite (40mm) DG2118C-S21C-MSL watch delivers excellent features such as high durability, precision and great workmanship. This watch has a classic "diver" design and is a great tool not only in tougher conditions, but also for everyday wear. This model catches the eye at first glance with its massive patented crown protection. The GMT function, i.e. the second time zone indicator, will be especially useful for travellers.
This model is a tribute to the legendary pilot, Major Brian Shull. Towards the end of the Vietnam War, he was severely wounded and doctors gave him almost no chance of survival. But he recovered enough to start flying the SR-71 Blackbird again.
The dial of the watch is made from a Gibeon meteorite. The unique Gibeon meteorite probably came from a large asteroid after its explosion - it was transformed on its journey through space and fell to Earth about 600 million years ago in what is now Namibia. Its intricate crystal patterns, known as Widmanstätten patterns, formed naturally over millions of years as the iron and nickel alloys inside the meteorite slowly cooled, and could not be replicated on Earth.
The case of the Ball DG2118C-S21C-MSL watch, including the bracelet, is made of stainless steel. The bracelet also includes a patented folding clasp. Inside the case works a Swiss mechanical automatic movement Ball RR1201-C (based on ETA 2893), which works at a frequency of 28800 semi-frequencies per hour and has a GMT function - i.e. an indicator of the second time zone in the form of the fourth hand. The machine is COSC certified. Thanks to this, it can carry the "Chronometer" designation and meets the strictest requirements for precision operation. At the traditional position 3 we find the date display.
The watch is also impact-resistant to 7500 Gs, which corresponds to a fall of up to 1.5 metres without damaging the movement. In addition to the case design, this is ensured by the patented Amortiser® shock protection system (shock protection for the automatic winding rotor, with the possibility of fixing the rotor on some models). A bidirectionally rotatable sapphire GMT lunette, equipped with the brand's typical H3 tritium luminescent tubes, serves to display the next time zone. This ensures trouble-free use even in the dark.
The perfectly clear dial is protected by a sapphire crystal that is maximally scratch-resistant. An anti-reflective coating provides excellent legibility even in direct sunlight. Readability in the dark is ensured by the H3 tritium luminescent tubes on the hands and indexes. These ensure reliable luminosity regardless of previous illumination, unlike the classic luminescent coating. The water resistance of this watch is 100m and is supported by a screw-down crown and a special patented crown protector, so it can easily handle swimming, for example.
This is a limited edition of 1000 pieces for the whole world.

In 1891, two trains collided at Kipton Station in Ohio, USA, claiming 8 lives. The watch of one of the train drivers, who unknowingly stopped for 4 minutes, was to blame. Jeweler and railway inspector Webster Clay Ball was tasked with setting new standards for the accuracy and control of track staff watches. The Swiss Accuracy Society (known as COSC) was even inspired by its strict requirements to create its own accuracy parameters for watches, known as the Chronometer.
The original Ball's jewelry store in Cleveland gradually grew into the Ball Watch Company, which began producing reliable and high-quality watches. Of course, precision and quality also adorn today's production, which is produced in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, under the prestigious Swiss Made label. A large part of it has a COSC chronometer certification. We can also add our own patented technologies, such as the SpringLOCK® and Amortiser® impact systems, the helium valve directly in the crown, the patented crown protection, or the A-PROOF® antimagnetic system. The highlight of all this is the Ball Chronometer Manufacture Caliber 7309 in-house movement with a power reserve of 80 hours and COSC certification. You can also rely on H3 tritium luminescence on all Ball watches, which ensures 100% readability in the dark, regardless of previous lighting!
Today's Ball watches, which have exclusively mechanical movements, therefore offer models suitable not only for railway tracks, but also for rougher use, or even underwater. Thanks to the top processing, however, they will make you a lot of joy even during everyday wear.
