The limited edition of 888 pieces of the Alpina Alpiner Extreme Regulator Automatic Limited Edition AL-650DGN4AE6 is a wonderful piece not only for the collection of an enthusiast of interesting watchmaking complications. Its features and design make it suitable for everyday wear as well.
The steel case houses a Swiss mechanical automatic movement AL-650 with 31 jewels, which operates at a frequency of 28800 semi-beats per hour. This movement displays the time with a less conventional solution, called a regulator. This means that each hand revolves around its own axis. In this case it is a central minute hand, an off-centre hour hand at the 10 o'clock position and an off-centre second hand at the six o'clock position. This solution evokes the historical development of the watchmaking craft and will delight any fan of unusual watchmaking complications. The clearly structured dial is protected by a sapphire crystal that is maximally scratch-resistant.
Limited to 888 pieces worldwide, the AL-650DGN4AE6 comes with a practical steel bracelet and the 41 mm case diameter makes it suitable for most men's wrists. The water resistance of this watch is 200m, so it can easily handle swimming or diving to about 20m.
