Description

The story of the TROPIC® strap begins in the mid-1950s when explorers, divers and outdoor enthusiasts were looking for a sportier and more comfortable rubber bracelet as an alternative to the traditional steel bracelets of the time. In 1955, they found the answer in the TROPIC® rubber, waterproof and extremely soft and durable straps, which could be purchased as an alternative strap at authorized dealers of the most famous sports brands. TROPIC® straps were thus offered by brands such as Rolex, Omega, Zodiac, Aquastar and others.

While there are a large number of straps on the market with the Tropic label, TROPIC® is a registered trademark, not a generic name or style. Since 1955, the perforated rubber strap with a basket weave structure has been a registered Swiss trademark, and since 2010 it has been a registered trademark of Synchron.

The patented vulcanized rubber used to manufacture each genuine TROPIC® rubber strap is hypoallergenic and optimized for tensile strength, is UV resistant and largely resistant to the adverse effects of extreme heat or cold. And because this rubber does not contain silicone, it does not attract dust or fade with prolonged exposure to sunlight. The straps are made in Italy.

This original TROPIC® strap builds on its 1950s pioneer, retaining the iconic structure, shape and distinct retro aesthetic while improving the overall durability and comfort that have made TROPIC® straps a popular sports watch accessory for more than 50 years.

The straps come with a silver signed buckle.
