The Laco Original Pilot 26 mm strap underlines the character of any pilot and observer watch. A large number of observation watches made in the 1940s can be found among collectors today, but often without a strap or with a long version that cannot be worn on the wrist.
This short version of the strap allows the original observation watch to be worn and is also suitable for the Laco Replica 55 model.
In its day, watches with a 55 mm case were not worn on the wrist, but over flight gear, on the arm or on the thigh, which explains why the strap on this watch was considerably longer.
This strap can only be used for watches with a fixed loop and a 26 mm wide loop. For this reason, each watch strap comes with five separate rivets that are used to secure the strap firmly to the watch.

The origin of the Laco brand dates back to 1925, when Frieda Lacher and Ludwig Hummel founded a company called Lacher & Co in Pforzheim, hence the name Laco. The brand is best known for its pilot watches produced during World War II - it was one of the five brands that produced watches for German Luftwaffe pilots.
Of course, the brand does not only focus on pilot watches, in its collection we also find models inspired by the appearance of nautical watches, sports models in a diver's style, or perhaps classic watches in a minimalist design.
