The Seiko SRPH99K1 Black Series Night Vision watch from the Prospex Land line takes the best of Seiko's historically very popular dive watches and adds features for use on land. It delights with high water resistance and a sapphire crystal. In a special series, it comes with a PVD-treated surface, a black dial and luminescence in a contrasting green shade, inspired by the mysterious world of the night ocean. The model will be available in 7,000 pieces.

At the heart of the Seiko SRPH99K1 is the Seiko 4R35 self-winding mechanical movement, also featuring a date function, manual winding and hacking (stopping the seconds hand when setting the time). The movement has 23 jewels, a running frequency of 21,600 semi-frequencies per hour and a winding reserve of a practical 41 hours. A welcome feature is the use of a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The model has a typically shaped case, reminiscent of a tortoise shell - the shape used ensures a feeling of comfort on the wrist. The black dial, with distinctive indices and hands with Lumibrite luminescence in a green shade, is flanked by a black bi-directional compass lunette.
The watch face is equipped with nine basic Ground to Air Emergency Signal Codes. It is designed to communicate with ground-based air rescue teams in the event of an emergency. The system is designed to send a clear visual message to any aircraft that might relay your location. It is used in situations where, for example, a hiker gets lost in unfamiliar terrain.
The watch comes on a black fabric strap. The water resistance of the watch is 200 meters, and of course there is a screw-down crown and a caseback.
