The Orient Star RE-AY0001B Contemporary Moon Phase watch offers an unusual but clean dial and elegant design that makes it a suitable accessory for a shirt or jacket. However, it can also be used for everyday wear. The designers were inspired by the universe for the new dials.

The latest version of the Orient Star Moon Phase stays true to the original design from 2017, when the brand launched its first mechanical watch with a moon phase function as part of the classic collection, which quickly became the brand's flagship. This new, carefully crafted design is reminiscent of the image of the Earth as seen from the Moon and boasts the superb quality and meticulous craftsmanship that is synonymous with ORIENT STAR. Its distinctive look makes it a great choice for elegant men's watches.

The watch stands out for its level of craftsmanship, unmistakable design, sharp lines, details of the case, bracelet and dial. The case of the Orient RE-AY0001B00B watchis made of stainless steel, its surface is treated with a special Sallaz polishing method, which is also otherwise known as black polishing, because the polished surface is so perfectly smooth that it appears black from a certain angle.
At its heart we find the Orient F7M63 mechanical movement, which is equipped with an automatic winding and a power reserve of 50 hours. This movement also features a stopping of the seconds hand when the watch is set (called hacking), and an interesting complication is the winding reserve indicator at the 12 o'clock position. Many will be pleased to see the movement's flywheel at the 9 o'clock position, the so-called "open heart", and the date display with the moon phase displayed in the sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position. The movement, operating at a frequency of 21,600 semi-rhythms/hour, can be observed thanks to the transparent caseback.

The unusual black, finely textured dial with good clarity is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. In addition to the special dial, owners will also enjoy the details in the form of embossed indices at the hour positions, the signed crown with ceramic element, or the details of the case edges and the transitions of polished and brushed surfaces. Better legibility in low light conditions is ensured by the application of luminescence to the hands and hour points. The water resistance of this model is 100 m, so the watch does not need to be removed when showering or swimming. The case is complemented by a five-link steel bracelet, finished with a folding clasp. The 41 mm case diameter makes the watch suitable for most men's wrists.
