The 70s were never so fashionable - the colours, the materials, the design... Vintage chronographs are experiencing a real boom today. They are reviving in style, which pleases collectors and all those who remember with nostalgia not only the disco era.

For this edition, Nivada Grenchen took inspiration from its legendary Chronomaster model and created a new version based on a vintage Chronoking dial straight out of the wild and wonderful 1970s. The original "Singer Newman" style sub-dials were mounted on a tonneau case with a Valjoux 72 calibre, and behind this very special dial was a very special name: Jean Singer, a leading dial maker based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, known for producing some of the most famous and collectible exotic dials the watchmaking world has ever had and still has. Dials such as the distinctive Speedmaster Racing, the energetic Heuer Skipper or the intense blue Nina from Universal were all made by this one and only Jean Singer.

This new version of the Nivada Chronoking truly carries the eccentric spirit of the 1970s, recreating all the hallmarks of this global success story with full panache. The sand sub-dials - with the typical art deco "Newman" typography - shine on the salmon dial, while the minute scale is in white gradient. This combination creates an unusual sense of depth.

The Nivada Chronoking is equipped with the proven TMI VK63A mecaquartz movement. At the push of a button, the chronograph hand moves smoothly across the dial with the same delicacy we love in mechanical watches. The mecaquartz movement combines the precision of a quartz movement with the feel of a mechanical movement - the best of traditional and avant-garde design. The quartz part keeps time, while the mechanical part ensures the smooth running of the chronograph. This is why they are often referred to as hybrid movements.

The case with its sympathetic dimensions of 38 x 12.95 x 46.5 mm fits perfectly on any wrist. Thanks to the dimensions and the 10 Atm water resistance, your everyday watch is taken care of!
