The Junkers Sondereditionen Graf zu Castell 969.01.01 from the Sondereditionen model series is a watch with an attractive aviation design. The watch is inspired by the captivating adventures of Count zu Castell, a pioneer of German aviation history, whose portrait and signature are engraved on the back of the watch. Only 500 of each colour variant were produced.
His life, driven by a lust for adventure and an insatiable desire for freedom, redefined the boundaries of the sky. As a commercial pilot in China, he ventured to the remotest corners of the Far East. There he traversed majestic landscapes, allowed us to discover the world from a previously unseen perspective through his aerial photographs, and survived stray flights, crash landings and air raids.
Castell's unwavering courage and boundless passion for flying inspired a special edition Junkers Graf zu Castell watch - a timepiece that pays tribute to the unforgettable adventures of a true pioneer of German aviation history.
The Junkers 969.01.05.M watch has a case made of stainless steel and is powered by a Swiss Ronda Z60 battery movement. It features a date display at the four o'clock position, a day of the week indicator and a stopwatch. The watch comes with a stylish steel strap.
The glass of the Junkers 969.01.05.M is sapphire and is therefore extremely scratch resistant. The water resistance of this model is 100m (10 ATM), so it can handle contact with water such as swimming or snorkeling. With its 42mm case diameter, it will fit most men's wrists. The Lug to Lug dimension ("height" of the watch including the feet) is 48 mm.
