The German Junghans 1972 Chronoscope Quarz Edition FIS Lemon 41/4369.00 revives the style of the 1970s in conjunction with modern technology. In the watch we can find a reference to 1972, when Junghans was the official timekeeper of the Summer Olympics in Munich. This limited edition of just 150 pieces for the whole world refers to the 2023 World Ski Championships, which will take place in Planica, Slovenia. Junghans is proud to be the official partner and timekeeper of this event for the third time in a row.
The Junghans 1972 Chronoscope Quarz Edition FIS Lemon 41/4369.00 is equipped with the battery-powered J645.83 movement, which is based on the Japanese variant of the Seiko VK63A. With the stopwatch you can clearly measure the time for 60 minutes. The sub-dial at the 3 position serves as a 24-hour time display. The date indicator can be found between 4 and 5 o'clock. The dial of the watch is protected by a sapphire crystal, which is highly scratch-resistant. The 43.3 mm case is made of stainless steel and is complemented by a leather strap. It is water resistant to 100 meters (10 ATM) - so it can handle contact with water, such as swimming.
Junghans is the official timekeeper of the 52nd World Ski Championships, which will be hosted by Seefeld, Austria in 2019. That's why this unique limited edition was produced in just 52 pieces. Over 700 athletes from 60 countries will compete in cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined. Interestingly, the first ever World Nordic Ski Championships took place in 1925 in Janské Lázně in what was then Czechoslovakia.
This limited edition of only 150 pieces refers to the 2023 World Nordic Ski Championships in Planica, Slovenia. As usual, cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined will be on the programme. Junghans is the official timekeeper and proud partner of the event. The partnership with this event is taken very seriously by the Schramberg watch brand, as evidenced by the long-standing cooperation with ambassador Karl Geiger. This German ski jumping representative is a native of Oberstdorf and is the 2020 World Ski Jumping Champion in the Slovenian town of Planica. At the championships, he will therefore not only defend the colours of his country, but also of the traditional watchmaker Junghans. The first ever World Nordic Ski Championships has a Czech footprint, as it took place in Janské Lázně in 1925.
