Speed Sensor 2 and Cadence Sensor 2 (Bundle), ANT+ and BLE 010-12845-00 is capable of providing accurate speed and performance even where there is no signal.
The sensor is particularly useful when mountain biking in dense forest, especially at low speeds. In such conditions, a GPS cycle computer may register your speed as zero, which leads to the recording of your ride being paused when the "Auto Pause" function is enabled on your Garmin device. With the speed sensor, you can prevent this pausing and always have the most accurate speed and distance data.
The sensor has very simple installation and setup. Unlike older sensors, this sensor does not use a magnet or other counterpart in the wheel spokes. The sensor is mounted on the hub/centre of the front or rear wheel. Installation is so simple that it takes 1-5 minutes. After mounting, the sensor pairs with the sports watch and during the first kilometre of riding with GPS, the sports watch automatically calibrates the sensor, calculates and sets the precise circumference of your wheel. Therefore, it is not necessary to manually enter the wheel circumference into the menu.
The cadence sensor provides information about pedalling cadence. Cadence information is available not only on the sports watch display, but is also stored in the sports watch memory and later displayed with the ride in the Garmin Connect training diary.
