The Frederique Constant Manufacture Slimline Perpetual Calendar Automatic The Naked Watchmaker Limited Edition FC-775TNW4S6 is part of the Manufacture line, which offers models with in-house movements made by Frederique Constant. Thanks to their elegant look, they are suitable as an accessory for company, but they are also perfect for everyday wear. This model represents the very pinnacle of watchmaking in the form of the regal Perpetual Calendar complication, and has been produced in a limited edition of just 99 pieces for the entire world. The case of the Frederique Constant FC-775TNW4S6 is made of stainless steel and is completed with a fabric strap. Inside the case, the Swiss mechanical in-house movement FC-775 with automatic winding works reliably. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 semi-frequencies per hour and has 25 jewels. The main feature of the movement is the Perpetual Calendar complication, or the perpetual calendar. This means that it displays the current date, day of the week, month and leap year without the need for correction, up to the year 2100. This extremely complex solution is one of the so-called royal watch complications. There is also a moon phase indicator at the six o'clock position. The beautifully decorated movement can be observed thanks to the transparent dial and also from the front thanks to the skeletonization of the dial.
The skeletonized and interestingly designed dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, which is maximally scratch-resistant. The anti-reflective coating ensures excellent legibility even in the harsh sunlight. The water resistance of this model is 30m (3 ATM), so it can handle basic water contact such as rain or hand washing.
The FC-775 Manufacture movement was developed by Frederique Constant in 2016. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 semi-frequencies per hour (4Hz), has 25 stones and 191 components. The machine has an automatic winding with the option of manual crown winding. Its main advantage is the Perpetual Calendar function, or perpetual calendar, which ranks among the royal watchmaking complications. It thus displays the current date, day of the week, month and leap year without the need for correction, up to the year 2100. There is also a moon phase indicator at the six o'clock position. The running reserve is 38 hours. This is Frederique Constant's 20th in-house movement.
At present, Frederique Constant has an impressive 31 in-house manufacture movements (including the so-called "royal complications" in the form of a tourbillon and perpetual calendar), demonstrating the great maturity and high level of the brand.

Frederique Constant is a relatively young brand from the point of view of the watch world. Its history begins in 1988, when husband and wife Aletta and Peter Stas start designing their own collection of watches. The brand was named after their ancestors Frederique Schreiner and Constant Stas. Everything culminates with the presentation of the first collection in 1992. It is assembled by a Geneva watchmaker and contains Swiss movements.
The brand finds its home in Geneva, gradually expanding to such an extent that in 2000 it opens a new production facility in the Chêne-Bourg district. In 2002, the Stas couple revive the traditional Swiss brand Alpina, which becomes a sister brand of Frederique Constant and is supposed to satisfy the demand for sports watches. The production of Frederique Constant offers rather social watches.
That this Geneva-based brand is serious about watches was shown in 2004, when its first in-house movement, the FC-910, was introduced. This was placed in a model with a flywheel sight, which the brand calls the "Heart Beat", a solution that Frederique Constant used popularly in the early days of its existence. However, it did not stay far from this "first swallow", as the brand then added its own movements with additional complications, such as the date, possibly with the worldtimer function, or the moon phase indicator. The highlight is the in-house manufactory movements with royal complications, such as the tourbillon or the perpetual calendar, which make it clear that the brand is moving into the circle of haute horlogerie. Today, the Geneva manufactory already has 30 of its own in-house movements, while the most recent acquisition is worth mentioning - the revolutionary FC-810 movement with a monolithic silicon oscillator, replacing 26 components of a standard stepper mechanism. It operates at a frequency of 40 Hz, which is ten times the frequency of the flywheel in a regular mechanical watch. It must be added that Frederique Constant offers these top watch complications at very favorable prices.
The brand is also involved in the field of smart watches, while the Hybrid movement, which combines a smart watch movement and a classic mechanical movement, is interesting.
