The Festina Boyfriend 20371/2 watch features a mineral crystal, steel case and leather strap.
Mineral glass is the most commonly used type of watch glass today due to its properties. It is very hard, especially due to its high silicon content and surface hardening. This makes it a highly abrasion resistant material. Mineral glass is much harder than plastic. However, scratches or dents can appear on mineral glass. The hardness of this glass corresponds to grade 6 on the Mohs hardness scale.
Leather is a popular material for watch straps. It adds elegance to watches and is comfortable to wear because it does not get cold. The disadvantage can be that leather straps absorb moisture, hence sweat. After a while the strap will start to become brittle and will need to be replaced. The lifespan of a leather strap is estimated at 2 - 4 years.
