The Cuervo y Sobrinos Rough Riders series is a tribute to the brave cavalrymen who fought in the Spanish-American War of 1898. This intrepid group of men, the "Rough Riders", took part in several fierce battles. Housed in a 45mm titanium and bronze case, this model commemorates the 125th anniversary of the Battle of San Juan Hill (July 1, 1898) and the brave men who fought for Cuba's independence from Spain. In honor of this anniversary, the limited edition is limited to 125 pieces.

President William McKinley called for 125,000 volunteers to fight against Spanish colonial policies in Cuba. Following this, Colonel Leonard Wood and his deputy Theodore Roosevelt (later the 26th President) formed the regiment. It was named the"1st United States Volunteer Cavalry" and its ranks were made up of men from Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. These men, accustomed to the warm climate, were convinced that they could better cope with the humid Cuban climate. This group of brothers, all experienced horsemen, became known as "rough riders," although they fought on foot because their horses were not sent with them.

The case of the Cuervo y Sobrinos Pirata Rough Riders 3052.5RRN is made of bronze and titanium. Inside is a Swiss mechanical movement with a CYS 5103 self-winding movement (the base is a Soprod M100). It runs at 28800 A/h, is fitted with 25 jewels and boasts a power reserve of 38 hours. The machine's operation can be enjoyed thanks to a transparent dial. It is also decorated with a drawing of a cavalryman holding an American flag.

The transparent dial is finished in black. The distinctive numerals and hands are coated with Superluminova luminescent coating. A handy date indicator is located at the 6 position. Above it we find the symbol of two crossed swords with the Rough Riders emblem. Everything is protected by a double rounded sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment.

With a case diameter of 45 mm, the Cuervo y Sobrinos Pirata Rough Riders 3052.5RRN fits especially fans of larger watches. It is complemented by a black leather strap. Water resistance is set at 5 ATM, so the watch can handle lighter contact with water, for example when washing hands or taking a shower.
