TheCasio G-Shock DWE-5600JB-1A9ER J. Balvin Collaborationwatch is a collaboration between Casio and Colombian singer J. Balvin. It is another sporty modelin the DWE-5600 series, featuring a fresh design in the tried-and-true angular case, now available in a 2-in-1 version that allows you to change its look with an additional strap and case cover.
The Casio G-Shock DWE-5600JB-1A9ER features button function labels around the display, handwritten in Spanish by J. Balvin himself. This is the first time Spanish text has ever appeared on a Casio watch. His signature slogan,“MA’G,” is also prominently displayed on the dial. Balvin’s lightning bolt logo adorns several parts of the watch—specifically the case back and straps—and also appears on the display when the backlight is activated.
As we’ve come to expect from this series, the watch features construction that allows it to withstand even the harshest conditions. The case’s high durability is ensured by the Carbon Core Guard design. This is made of resin, reinforced and strengthened with carbon fibers. This combination allows for a more compact and lightweight design. A welcome new feature is the ease with which the case back and straps can be replaced, even at home.
The Casio G-Shock DWE 5600JB-1A9features a digital display that shows the date, day of the week, stopwatch with split times, alarm, and other functions. The display lights up to alert you when a countdown ends, for the hourly chime, when the alarm is set, and more. The transparent case and watch band are yellow and can be easily swapped out for the black versions included in the package. The display is protected bymineral glass. With a case diameter of 43.8 mm, this watch is on the larger side. This model is water-resistant to 200 m, so you can swim and dive without scuba gear without any problems.
The watch comes in special 2-in-1 packaging with a spare case back and an extra strap.
