The German Junghans 1972 Competition Chronoscope Automatic 27/9204.00 from the Performance series revives the style of the 1970s in conjunction with modern technology. In the watch we can find a reference to 1972, when Junghans was the official timekeeper of the Summer Olympics in Munich. This limited edition was created in just 50 pieces for the whole world.
The Junghans 1972 Competition Chronoscope Automatic 27/9204.00 has a case made of white 18Kt gold and is complemented by a leather strap. It is equipped with a mechanical movement J880.1 with automatic winding, which is based on the famous Swiss variant ETA Valjoux 7750. The manufacturer incorporates it into the watch in the Elaboré finish with increased shock protection (Incabloc) and tuned maximum daily deviation to +/- 14 seconds. This movement has a stopwatch function and also a useful date display at the four to five o'clock position. The power reserve is up to 48 hours. Around the perimeter of the dial we find a tachymetric scale, which is used to measure the average speed over a precisely defined period.
The Junghans 27/9204.00 model has a dial protected by a sapphire crystal that is extremely scratch-resistant. The double-sided anti-reflective coating ensures excellent legibility even in direct sunlight. With a water resistance of 100 metres (10 ATM), this model can withstand even greater contact with water, such as swimming.
